Certified Accounting Technician (CAT)


Course Overview

The CAT is designed by ACCA to equip students with the technical skills and knowledge necessary to fulfil an accounting role up to technicians level.
ACCA is the largest professional accountancy body in the UK operating on an international basis. This underscores its international
status as a world leader in accountancy education. Joining the ACCA course will mean that your technician qualification will be well
respected in all employment sectors throughout the world. On successful completion of the course and satisfying the practical experience requirement, you will be able to use the title Certified Accounting Technician (CAT).

The ACCA Qualification is your passport to reaching the highest levels in any organisation and as a CAT graduate you have the knowledge, skills and practical experience to get off to a flying start.

You will be automatically transferred to the ACCA Qualification register when you have successfully completed your CAT exams, unless you chose not to select this option when you originally registered as a CAT student. You will be awarded exemption from the Knowledge module of the Fundamentals Level (F1, F2 and F3) and will not be charged an additional registration fee or exemption fees.

3 - General Entry Requirements
The City of London College seeks to recruit students of outstanding achievement and potential from all educational backgrounds, so good examination results are the main factor in the admission of students to our courses with atleast a Grade C in English and Mathematics at GCSE O Level or equivalent. You will also need to prove your English language proficiency such as an IELTS with an overall band of 5.5. In addition to this, we can also use other information supplied to us to ensure we admit students with the most outstanding potential. This information might include: prior and predicted grades, evidence of knowledge and commitment in your personal statement describing your analytical and interpersonal skills, TWO references from an employer and teacher , performance at interview and any exceptional circumstances or personal barriers to learning that you have faced. This allows us to build up a full and rounded view of all our applicants.
